Russell Peters started PSKoi in 1999 in Northern California. In 2007 he became a member of the US Chapter of Shinkokai. A year later, in 2008, I decided to only focus on bringing in the very best quality Koi that I could find for my customers. This meant I would hand select everything I purchase and not buy boxes of preselected Koi. PSKoi is a small, one man operation and in order to expand I moved to Indiana in 2017. This has allowed me to increase the size of my business to make it 4 times larger than it was in California. Since my goal was to only do higher quality Koi I only sell about 800 Koi each year. The expansion of my facility has allowed me to focus on the health, and well being, of the Koi I provide my customers. I am one of only three Shinkokai members that tests all of their Koi shipments for KHV, one of only two members that has a certified veterinarian take the samples for testing, and I am the only Shinkokai member that had their QT protocol and KHV testing protocol designed, and overseen, by the USDA/APHIS program by USDA veterinarians. Each year, the Koi I provide my customers flourish, and excel as champions at Koi shows across the United States.
